ROMAN. Themisonus (?), 4th century. Disk (Silver, 11 mm, 0.59 g). [TH]EMISO-NE VIVA[S] (retrograde) ('Themisonus, may you live!') Draped, half-length facing bust of a young man. Rev. Blank. Cf. J. Spier, Late Antique and Early Christian Gems, 35-69 (for similar intaglio engraved gold and silver disks). A beautiful ring insert in the finest fourth century engraving style. Minor roughess and worn through on higher areas, otherwise, extremely fine.
